Respected Locally, Recognized Globally.

With Prevail, I really want to emphasize the importance of having HONEST support and respect from our community. We make a genuine effort to reach out to individuals doing great things within our city. My good friend Ken Soleta, known as K. Sole, had his first gig at Broadway Bar in Downtown Los Angeles a few nights ago. I had to lace him with a sample shirt from our first collection. He has come a long way from spinning at small lounges in Glendale, CA. He is exactly what Prevail represents, and that's starting with nothing to doing whatever it takes to get to where you want to be.

Prevail

Prevail is something I envisioned years ago. I didn't know exactly what it was at the time, but I knew it was something that had to happen eventually. I was never the type to rush into things and to do things just to do it. I let things happen naturally. I let it build and develop on its own. For the past few months now I, along with my partner and very good friend of 10+ years, have been developing this brand. I firmly disagree with clothing brands happening overnight and I believe that they normally fail eventually. I mean, Prevail is something that has been in our minds for years now. I remember the nights when we were teenagers we would just stay up and talk about coming out with our line of clothes.

To see our vision and ideas come to fruition is fuckin crazy to me. I can't explain to you the feeling of seeing the designs we've doodled on paper growing up turn into tangible goods. It's fuckin insane. It's a great feeling, but a deep reminder of how much hard work you have to put in when you're chasing your dreams. The pressure is on now. People expect shit now. But that's okay because out of everyone in this world, we expect the best from ourselves.

Folks, I present to you Prevail. It isn't my intention to sell you a logo, or a single piece of shirt, but rather an idea. Prevail is a thought, it evokes feelings, and it certainly is a belief. It's for people who want everything and are willing to do whatever it takes to get wherever they want to be. The shirt I have on in this photo below is a sample from our first collection. It will be released to the public soon.

Vans Vault x Taka Hayashi Palm Checker Pack

I'm a big fan of the floral craze that's been going on lately, and Vans does another great job with this particular collection. I can already see myself wearing these with some lightweight denim or khakis all throughout spring and summer here in Los Angeles. I personally prefer the sneaker-inspired TH Revere Hi LX over the moccasin-inspired Cornice LXs, but you can't go wrong with either pair. The pack should be hitting select Vans accounts in April.
